Coulter does an excellent job of developing her characters. She was one of my favorite characters from the first two books and her book did live up to what I loved most about her. Thanks for telling us about the problem. I prefer my heroines with a bit of a brain in their head. Lots of rape-y scenes. Ah, yes, having read this book many years ago, my reading palate has changed.
It is just gride from Beide usually offend our 21st century sensibilities. But unfortunatelly, while the first one i adored, i simply couldn’t stand the heroine and the hero in this one.
The rape scene, mentioned many times, was bad.

It is like blaming video games for violence. Sinjun is an energetic and fun character, but instead of a charming hero, who is exasperated but secretly amused, we get an asshole like Colin who is determined to beat her into submission not literally, but it’s not too far off.

He was flat on top of her again, breathing hard, wondering what the devil had come over him. Hearing it, by audio, was much less perturbing. I don’t care about this kind of female carachters. What can i say about this novel?
I think book you sit and read that has bad press, are very good when on audio you here all the emotion and feeling that reading does offer. Want to Read saving….
I couldn’t keep reading after that. The real problem is people’s inablility to separate fantasy from reality.
